🛩 Riyadh Air will commence flights on October 26, 2025, from Riyadh to London Heathrow. Acquiring slots at Heathrow is challenging and costly; Riyadh Air secured them from British Airways. Oman Air's last pair sold for £75 million. Flights will operate with B787 Dreamliners, accommodating 288 passengers. Initial aircraft are leased from Oman Air due to Boeing delivery delays. Although key certifications are pending, the airline aims to be a major competitor, supported by the powerful Saudi government.

🛫 Five Italian airports, including Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, Bologna, and Turin, have started allowing passengers to carry over 100 milliliters of liquids in hand luggage, thanks to new scanners. In Rome, this allowance excludes flights to the U.S. and Israel. Milan airports cap the limit at two liters, with restrictions specific to quick control lanes at Malpensa. Bologna has no restrictions, while Turin applies this only to priority lane passengers. Edinburgh and Birmingham in the UK have similar allowances.

✈️ Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong's main airline, orders 14 new Boeing 777-9s and reserves 35 more after 12 years of focusing on Airbus. The decision is driven by the 777-9's 20% better fuel efficiency. The 777-9, with a range of 13,510 km, is close to certification and will be Boeing's largest aircraft, featuring the widest wingspan available. Boeing has already sold around 550 units of this model.

✈ United Airlines faced a major disruption when all their planes were grounded due to a false fire alarm at their Arlington Heights operations center. The incident halted flights across the U.S. for several hours, affecting approximately 1,000 aircraft.
