Descifrando la pila: claves para desbloquear el éxito del PMS y la distribución

  • Editorial Team
  • 7 May 2025
🏨 Zsuzsanna Albrecht stresses the importance of defining future workflows before selecting a Property Management System (PMS) for hotels, urging for API openness and total cost evaluation beyond initial price. Advocating for cloud-based, flexible solutions, she highlights technology integration as crucial for data flow and efficiency. Albrecht warns that cheaper options often end up costly if they lack long-term efficiency, guest satisfaction, or revenue benefits. Seamless guest experiences depend on integrated PMS and distribution strategies. Future-proofing hotel tech involves scalable, adaptable systems, anticipating guest expectations, digital trends, and operational needs. AI, contactless experiences, smart hotels, hyper-personalization, next-gen payments, robotics, and sustainability tech are key trends transforming the industry. Albrecht advises on aligning technology with strategy, involving teams early, and investing in scalable, connected tools for real business problem solving.

Google Maps “crea” un nuevo aeropuerto comercial en Gran Canaria

  • Alex Cuenca
  • 7 May 2025
🛫 Google Maps mistakenly located a non-existent "Maspalomas Airport" in southern Gran Canaria, causing confusion among users, especially tourists. The error, reported by Canarias7, is seen on both voice and screen directions along the GC-140 road in Telde when southeast destinations on the island are set. The actual airport is between Telde and Ingenio, while a small private aerodrome exists in El Berriel, not intended for commercial use. This issue is not the first geolocation error in Gran Canaria as similar incidents have misled visitors in the past.

🌍 Reino Unido remains Spain's top tourist source market with a shift towards spring and autumn travel and increased staycation spending, as per Turespaña's "Trend Reports" for summer 2025. Challenges include decreased consideration and satisfaction, exchange rate volatility, and global economic factors. Spain leads in France, Germany, the Netherlands, and long-distance markets like the US, which projects record arrivals. China solidifies its preference for Spain with heightened spending and improved air connectivity. Other positive trends are seen in Brazil, Japan, Argentina, India, and Australia. Summer 2025 forecasts are optimistic, with responsible tourism and mass tourism management gaining importance.
