📍 Riu Plaza Toronto, the first urban hotel by Riu Hotels & Resorts in Canada, sold 218 rooms within 48 hours of opening on September 19. Announced six years ago, its completion faced a four-year delay due to the pandemic and construction slowdown. Occupying 23 floors of a 49-story skyscraper, the hotel offers 352 rooms (initially selling 250), emphasizing a vacation-focused design. Its strategic downtown location, two streets from the theater district and 25 minutes from the airport, enhances urban accessibility.

🏨 Luis Riu announced the opening of the Riu Plaza Toronto hotel in downtown Toronto with 352 rooms across 23 floors. The hotel received a remarkable welcome with 218 rooms booked within 48 hours of opening. The project took six years to complete, four years longer than initially planned. Riu praised the hotel's interior design and strategic location, just 25 minutes from the airport, near Lake Ontario, and 1.5 hours from Niagara Falls.

📈 Millenium Hospitality Real Estate (MHRE) closed H1 2025 with a 34.8% revenue increase to €13.35 million and a 14-fold rise in net profit to €29.4 million. This growth was driven by new hotel openings in Madrid and Cádiz, and asset revaluations. EBITDA reached €8.13 million, 50% higher than H1 2024. Their asset value increased by 6.44% to €728.4 million, and they sold holdings for €175 million. A total of €181 million was distributed to shareholders.

🏨 Grupo Tesela, in Valencia's Ruzafa neighborhood, started constructing a 4-star hotel for the Olympia chain with 46 rooms, some featuring private terraces. Construction, led by architect Francisco Cantos and technical architect Javier Calderón, is expected to last two and a half years. This project caters to Valencia's growing hotel demand. Grupo Tesela, expanding its business scope, has completed projects for NH Collection, SH Singular Hotels, and Magic World.

📈 Líbere Hospitality Group (LHG) signed its third property in Madrid, near Plaza de España and Gran Vía. Set to operate in the second half of 2027, the building will feature 45 accommodations across 7 floors, including 31 studios and 12 one-bedroom apartments. The office building conversion, starting August, will take 18 months. Located at Calle del Marqués de Urquijo 5, this adds to LHG's portfolio, increasing it to 1,632 units in Spain.

🏨 Barceló abrirá el Palacio San Juan, un hotel de lujo en Murcia, propiedad de Grupo Fuertes. Este será el octavo en España y el décimo en el mundo. Barceló opera cuatro hoteles en Murcia, generando más de 300 empleos, que aumentarán a 400 con esta apertura. El Occidental Mar Menor ofrece 148 habitaciones y diversas instalaciones. Barceló, con 41 establecimientos en el Corredor Mediterráneo, prevé ingresos de 300 millones de euros, con 15 millones de Murcia.
