Quinta edición de los Premios Traveling for Happiness, con novedades

🏡 AEHM and Connecting Heads open applications for the Traveling for Happiness Awards until May 2, aiming to honor social and environmental commitment practices in the tourism sector. This fifth edition introduces a new category, “Preservación de fauna y flora,” and new jury members including Juan Abarca, Juan Carlos Delrieu, and Javier Zori. The jury deliberates in May, announces winners on June 2, and awards are presented at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid on June 12. There are eight categories, including sustainable gastronomy and decarbonization. Winners receive a physical award and certification, media publicity, and promotional opportunities.

Luz verde a un macrocomplejo con hoteles y playa en Sevilla

🏖 Sevilla celebrates the approval of a new leisure and hotel complex with a €100 million investment for a 12-hectare land purchase. Romanian investor Forty Management, alongside Crystal Lagoons, have initiated the Lagoon City development, currently in the permitting phase, with an 18-month timeframe for construction permission. The project in Bormujos, 7 km from Seville, includes a crystal-clear lagoon, a 200-room luxury hotel, employment for over 600 people, and international amenities. It's part of Forty Management's portfolio including 8 Lagoon City projects and 11 Public Access Lagoons across six countries, alongside three luxury hotels totaling 702 rooms.

Ranking Hosteltur: las cadenas medianas concentran su expansión en España

🏨 Alegría Hotels incorporated four establishments in 2024, plans to add four more in 2023, all in Spain. Canarian Hospitality added four in the Canary Islands last year and will add two in the archipelago in 2025 plus one on the Costa del Sol next year. Magic Costa Blanca acquired five vacation hotels with over 1,200 rooms, two urban hotels with over 100 rooms in Villarreal (Castellón), and over 150 owned and rented apartments, launching seven establishments last year, and will start two more this year. THB Hotels will introduce one complex in 2024, another this year, and two more next year. Intelier announced in 2024 a sales growth of 30% with 300 new rooms over three years, including openings of Intelier Hera in 2024 and more in Valencia and Benicàssim this year, with a 5-star in Córdoba scheduled for 2027. The renovated Hotel Balneario de Oropesa del Mar will reopen in June as Pontiana Thalasso Hotel after a €13 million refurbishment. Various hotel groups across Spain have detailed plans for expansion with new openings scheduled from 2023 to 2027, including international growth, with chains such as Room 007 leading the way by planning to add 15 hotels per year in Spain, Portugal, and Italy.

Mercado emisor: cuántos españoles viajan a Chequia y qué lugares visitan

📍 Chequia welcomed nearly 10.5 million foreign visitors in 2024, with over 25.5 million overnight stays and an average duration of 3.43 days. Spanish tourists ranked in the top 10 for international arrivals, reaching a record 271,014 travelers, surpassing their historical record from 2018 (266,517 visitors).
