🏨 In 2023, Spain entered the world hotel investment podium, becoming the second European market in H1 2024, just after the UK. Global hotel investment fell 17% to €9.8 billion in Q1, with Americas down 42% (€3.3 billion), Asia-Pacific 8% (€1.9 billion), yet EMEA up 19% (€4.5 billion). Spain accounted for 18% of European transactions, while UK led with €3.2 billion. Key Spanish transactions included Banco Santander's acquisition of three Meliá hotels and the Grupo Statuto's purchase of Six Senses Ibiza. Hotel investment in Spain is expected to drop nearly 25% from €4.1 billion in 2023.
