Hoteles de cadena en España: la realidad de un vistazo

  • Hosteltur
  • 14 April 2025
🏨 In Spain, 314 hotel chains operate, owning 79% of the country's 743,600 hotel rooms. The chains include 3,885 hotels, with large chains holding 54.48% of rooms. Independent establishments represent 26.6% of hotels but only 21.02% of rooms, averaging 10.7 rooms each, while chain hotels average 151.2 rooms. This concentration trend stems from growth and acquisition strategies, leveraging international market access, brand recognition, and loyalty programs. Despite the dominance of chains, independent hotels maintain a niche with personalized boutique experiences.

Las branded residences cambian las ciudades por los destinos vacacionales

  • Hosteltur
  • 8 April 2025
🚨 "Branded residences" in Europe are projected to grow by 180% by 2031, with the continent holding 18% of the global share, ranking third after North America and Asia-Pacific. Cities like London lead in completed and pending projects, yet vacation destinations such as Spain's Costa del Sol, and Istanbul and Bodrum in Turkey are gaining traction due to challenges in urban development. Hotel brands like Radisson and Six Senses lead in Eastern and Northern Europe, while St Regis shines on Costa del Sol. Non-hotel brand YOO plans five new projects within five years, and luxury car brand Lamborghini has a single project in Benahavís (Marbella). Los dos destinos top de los europeos para Semana Santa

  • Hosteltur
  • 6 April 2025
🌍 The top Easter holiday destinations for Europeans booking through travel agencies are the United States and Japan, along with neighboring medium-distance countries. Japan leads with 12.2% of all bookings, doubling since last Easter, and is expected to exceed 40 million international arrivals by the end of 2025. The average transaction value for accommodation bookings is €1,000 for a three-night stay. Germany's travel agents noted Iceland in the top three, with a fourfold increase in bookings from Spring 2024, possibly influenced by spectacular auroras expected in mid-April 2025. Long-haul destinations represent 47% of all worldwide bookings by European travel agents, up 12% from 2024, due to increased global connectivity with new long-distance flights. RateHawk, part of Emerging Travel Group, reports that lesser-known destinations like Hakone, Takayama, and Iceland are gaining popularity.

Se derrumba el turismo en Irlanda y nadie sabe por qué

  • Miguel Praga
  • 3 April 2025
🏖️ In February, tourist numbers in Ireland plummeted by 30% compared to the previous year. American tourists decreased by 88% from pre-pandemic levels and 35% year-over-year, while visits from French and German tourists dropped by 29% and 18%, respectively. The summer forecast anticipates even fewer visitors than in 2021, raising considerable concern among Irish experts. Shifts in popular culture, such as "Star Wars" and "Game of Thrones" previously boosting tourism and now shows like "Emily in Paris" or "White Lotus" taking the spotlight, could influence Ireland's international perception.
