Registro de reservas: ¿vulnera el principio de minimización de datos?

  • Automatic
  • 30 October 2024
🔒 The Spanish Ministry of the Interior plans to implement a new traveler control system starting December 2, overriding concerns of data minimization principles and despite a Non-Legislative Proposal (PNL) by the PP party calling for its suspension. Entities collecting personal data must adhere to the strict necessity for the purpose obtained. The European Commission is investigating a complaint regarding disproportionate personal data handling for over a year, with no resolution disclosed so far. The tourism industry is resisting the new control, fearing excessive intrusiveness into personal data, with European operators refusing to share client data. The industry, along with ACAVE and FETAVE, demands clear limitations on sensitive data, such as payment details and information on minors under 14.

  • Alex Cuenca
  • 28 October 2024
🚀 Spanish rail transport liberalization enters its second phase in 2025, with Adif opening competition for new high-speed corridors: Madrid-Galicia, Madrid-Asturias/Cantabria, and Madrid-Cádiz/Huelva. Initial information will be available soon, with maturity by end of 2026, when operational capacity will be awarded. Ouigo, Iryo, and potentially Eco Rail in alliance with Alsa will compete. Investments in adaptable fleets for two track widths are required, with Talgo being a possible technology provider. Adif guarantees multi-year capacity, initially set for five years, extendable to ten. Gran Canaria: un universo en cada paso

  • Automatic
  • 28 October 2024
🏖 Gran Canaria, celebrated as "el continente en miniatura," offers year-round desirable climate and diverse landscapes. The Roque Nublo, at over 1,800 meters, provides panoramic views and is a Monumento Natural. Half of the island's territory is a Biosphere Reserve, featuring almond trees, fruit orchards, and palm oases reminiscent of Arizona's canyons. With 128 beaches and average temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius, Gran Canaria's south boasts the unique Dunas de Maspalomas in Europe. The capital, Las Palmas, merges history and modernity, while the three-kilometer Las Canteras beach has a natural volcanic rock barrier. The northern region contrasts with rugged coasts and offers an authentic Canarian tradition. The island's outdoor sports, including trekking, water sports, and almost 60 km of beaches, are accessible all year. Gran Canaria also has seven exclusive golf courses and a rich gastronomy scene offering fresh seafood, local wines, and the artisanal queso de flor. Ideal for wellness tourism, it has spa and wellness centers utilizing local products like aloe vera.

Venecia sube a 10 euros su tasa ante el fracaso de los 5

  • Miguel Praga
  • 27 October 2024
🌍 Venecia has implemented a tourist tax, which was €5 in 2024, aimed at reducing one-day tourist visits. Despite this effort, large crowds persisted. Consequently, authorities plan to double the tax to €10 in 2025 and increase the number of taxed days from 29 to 54. Additionally, efforts to regulate tourist rentals are in place, limiting them to 120 days per year with stricter rules, including personal guest reception and providing recyclable trash bags.

Goueli (Destinia): “Hay plataformas que ya están por encima de los Estados

  • Automatic
  • 27 October 2024
🏗️ Ginés Martínez of Alpitour World and Amuda Goueli of Destinia indicate that tourism's negative impact is due to illegal lodging rather than the industry itself, which contributes to 13% of GDP and millions of jobs. María José Aguiló of the Mallorca Hotel Business Federation (FEHM) emphasizes housing and mobility issues, citing the introduction of tourist accommodations in residential areas without adequate regulation. The sector's uncontrolled elements create tensions, with platforms like Airbnb avoiding stricter rental regulations. The debate intensified at the "Perspectives of the Balearic Tourism Sector for 2025" event by APD.

¡Upsss!, Francia frena su ecologismo

  • Miguel Praga
  • 26 October 2024
💰 Michel Barnier, the new French Prime Minister, aims to collect an additional €1 billion annually from airlines operating in France, intended to reduce aviation pollution, not as a revenue measure. However, due to civil unrest over economic conditions in French overseas territories like Martinique and Guadeloupe in the Caribbean, and separate issues in New Caledonia and Reunion, the French government suggests not applying the new flight taxes to these regions, implicating a possible preferential treatment for travel within French territories.
