Playas inteligentes: ni falta que hace

  • Miguel Praga
  • 4 agosto 2024
🌊 The "Smart Beaches" project has been launched, offering an electronic system for constant monitoring of beach risks, number of visitors, wind, and water quality. The system signifies a shift from the simplicity of beachgoing with just a towel to a data-driven experience focused on bacterial risks, wind, water quality, and potential nearby acids, requiring beachgoers to be alert and informed through tablets and alarms. The concept raises questions about whether this evolution is in fact a devolution from relaxed, carefree beach experiences.

Así será el golpe de la Comunidad Valenciana a las viviendas turísticas

  • Alex Cuenca
  • 2 agosto 2024
🏖 In the Valencian Community, a new decree led by Tourism Councilor Nuria Montes and President Carlos Mazón aims to regulate tourist housing and balance sector needs. Municipalities can now handle sanctions and collect fines, with compensation funds for police enforcement. License renewals are set for every five years; false declaration penalties are increased. Property owners become subsidiarily liable for infractions, and housing must comply with habitability standards. AI will improve inspections, and awareness campaigns will encourage registration. Public-private collaboration will involve reservation platforms, local police, and regional hoteliers who participated in the consensus-driven decree development.
