🌍 Fundación Intermundial, part of Atlantigo group, in partnership with Fitur and ONU Turismo, announces the 8th edition of the Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award (Premio TRS) to recognize tourism companies committed to responsible practices. Fitur exhibitors can nominate themselves until January 7, but not if they are organizing companies or directly associated. Awards are in 5 categories, including one for recent Dana disaster relief in Valencia and Castilla-La Mancha. Winners will be revealed during Fitur, January 22-26, at Ifema Madrid.

Paradise Park Funstyle Hotel in Tenerife became the first autism-friendly hotel on the island, leading to 122 bookings. Autism Friendly Club, active in 16 countries, developed a validated program under the EU's Erasmus+ Autism Friendly Training project. Only 15% of autistic individuals are employed, indicating an opportunity for inclusive employment practices in the hospitality sector.

📊 Italsan achieved the ISCC Plus certification, endorsing its products' sustainability from production to end consumers. As one of the first in its sector, Italsan's ISCC Plus scope covers trading circular and biocircular polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) pipes. The certification, granted after passing Control Union's audit with GRUPO ACMS consultancy, ensures environmental sustainability, market access, reputation enhancement, efficiency and traceability, and prepares for future environmental regulations.

🏢 Madrid's Ayuntamiento has developed "Madrid Unique Destination" for high-impact tourism with over 50 local tourism businesses including hotels, travel agencies, and transport companies. The initiative, funded by EU's Next Generation funds, aims to boost competitiveness through specialized, sustainable tourism offerings. Launched at ILTM Cannes, held from December 2-5, with Tourism Director Héctor Coronel and 10 club companies present, the platform facilitates sector connections and strategic planning.

✈ Globalia Mantenimiento has expanded its services to include Iberojet as a new client, alongside other airlines such as Air Europa, Vueling, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Wamos, and Volotea. This follows the opening of a new hangar in Madrid in May. Iberojet recently used Globalia's services for their A330-300 EC-LXA, a key aircraft for summer operations and ACMI business line. Air Europa has repeatedly depended on Iberojet for fleet support due to their own operational difficulties. Globalia Mantenimiento, with over 20 years of experience, now operates three hangars, one in Barajas and two in Palma de Mallorca.

🏗️ Cabot Hotels invested 3 million euros in the complete renovation of Cabot Las Velas Apartments in Puerto Pollensa, upgrading it to a superior 3-key category. The renovation was led by interior designer Felip Polar and architect Antoni Canaves. The number of apartments increased from 28 to 51, including 45 studios and 6 apartments, with new amenities such as terraces with jacuzzis, two pools, and a playground. Committing to sustainability, renewable energy use, emission reduction, and water-efficient Mediterranean gardens were prioritized. The complex will now be open 365 days a year.

🏡 On November 28, Umoya Boutique Hotel in Hout Bay, South Africa, designed by Skrein Studios and GASS Architecture Studios, received the Best Hotel Design award at the Premios NAN 2024 in Madrid. Focused on sustainability, the hotel features Cape Dutch architecture with low-emission materials, solar passive systems, and protected courtyards designed through fluid dynamics.
