  • Alex Cuenca
  • 14 January 2025
🛫 Barcelona-El Prat Airport surpassed its capacity in 2024, reaching 55 million passengers, 4 million in December alone, exceeding its current infrastructure limit. Valencia Airport also exceeded its limit by 300,000, hitting 10.8 million users. El Prat's expansion plans remain stalled despite over ten failed attempts. Meanwhile, Alicante-Elche Airport saw passenger numbers soar to 18 million, a 16.8% increase from the previous year and 3 million more than in 2019, prompting a 19.8 million euro public tender for remodeling. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, nearing 25 million passengers, is also planning an expansion to accommodate up to 35 million users, with a focus on enlarging Terminal 3 and improving passenger experience.

Internal corporate dining areas are managed by the organization itself, while some companies opt for external partnerships or catering services that don't require on-site facilities. The digitalization of corporate dining focuses on queue management and efficiency, supported by advanced technology like TPV systems, which feature IA-powered scanning (vision checkout) and comprehensive management tools for inventory, reservations, kitchens, and personalized user experiences.

💰 In the Comunidad Valenciana, travel agencies are frustrated with the "Viaja+65" program, as 80-90% could not participate due to the lack of a booking platform. AEVAV president Miguel Jiménez criticized the program for its inefficiency compared to the official Imserso program, with no concrete travel dates and questionable reported pernoctations of 40,000 over a period from October to December 20. Participating hotels receive 35 euros per person per day, exceeding the state program's rate by 10 euros.
