🏨 O7 Hotels debuts in the Spanish mainland with the addition of two hotels in Lloret de Mar: Guitart Central Park Aqua Resort and Guitart Rosa, totaling nearly 800 rooms. Previously managing 15 establishments in the Balearic and Canary Islands, O7 Hotels expands its portfolio. The Guitart Central Park offers a water park and three restaurants, while Guitart Rosa is an adults-only hotel with a vintage design. Mallorcan chains are increasingly targeting Lloret de Mar for expansion.

📍 Meliá operates six hotels in Havana, 33 in Cuba, solidifying its role as a key international partner for the Cuban government. The Gran Hotel Bristol, now part of Meliá, features 162 rooms with an average occupancy rate of 40.5%. Tourism in Cuba has declined, with 981,856 international visitors by June, a 25% decrease from the previous year. Despite this, tourism remains a key revenue source alongside medical services and remittances.

🌴 Rafa Nadal and Meliá Hotels International are expanding their luxury hotel brand, Zel, by launching 7 new hotels in Argentina. These hotels are planned for El Calafate, Bariloche, Ushuaia, Iguazú, Posadas, Salta, and Mendoza. This joint venture mirrors Argentina’s appeal to entrepreneurs, highlighted by Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, on August 12, 2025. Currently, Zel operates in Punta Cana and Spain while Meliá has five existing hotels in Argentina.

🏨 Meliá Hotels International plans to open its first luxury boutique hotel in Lima, Peru, under The Meliá Collection brand in 2026. The hotel, located in Lima's historic center, will open in two phases: July 2026 with 61 rooms, and July 2027 with 107 rooms. Situated near UNESCO World Heritage sites, it will feature a cultural program for guests. The hotel is owned by Hoteles Bera, formed by local families, and supported by PROMPERÚ. Meliá already operates two hotels in Lima.

🏨 IHG Hotels & Resorts reached over a million rooms globally, with 6,700 hotels in 100+ countries. In the last decade, IHG doubled its brand portfolio to 20. This growth is attributed to IHG One Rewards and cutting-edge tech. IHG's milestones include the 4,000th hotel in the U.S. and the 800th in China. The development pipeline includes over 2,200 hotels. Brands span luxury (Six Senses) to essentials (Holiday Inn), expanding in high-growth markets.

🏨 Eurostars Vila de Allariz Hotel & Balneario is set in a Biosphere Reserve since 2005. The hotel features gardens, a terrace, a restaurant, a gym, and a multipurpose room for over 400 people. In Valladolid, Eurostars opened Hotel El Coloquio, a 4-star hotel with 60-person meeting room capacity and a 100-person event patio. Eurostars has 10 hotels in Pontevedra, 9 in A Coruña, 3 in Lugo, and 3 in Ourense. The first 5-star hotel in Valladolid, Eurostars Valladolid, will open by year-end.

🏨 Majestic Hotel Group, March 2026, Haro (La Rioja): New 5-star hotel, Palacio de los Ángeles, set to open in an 18th-century baroque palace. Government grants €813,000, aiding a €3.7 million project and creating 28 jobs. Gastronomy led by Michelin-starred Echapresto brothers, targeting enotourism prominence. A regional initiative, part of 77 projects, €217 million in subsidies across Spain, spurring €965 million investment and 1,464 jobs in 11 regions.

📈 Accor's revenues rose 5.1% to €2.745 billion by June 2025, with RevPAR up 4.6%. Recurrent Ebitda increased 9.4% to €552 million. Accor opened 117 hotels with over 15,000 rooms, totaling 5,740 hotels with 854,695 rooms. Net debt rose 24% to €3.096 billion. They plan a 3-4% RevPAR increase, 3.5% net unit growth, and a 9-10% Ebitda rise. A €240 million share buyback will follow an earlier €200 million.

🏖 Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina, located in Caniçal, Madeira, opened after renovations in 2024. The resort offers six restaurants, four pools, and a 900 m² spa with family hours. It provides diverse activities, including marine excursions, kids' clubs, and natural ocean access. With architecture inspired by island culture, it caters to families and couples seeking relaxation and adventure. 🏨 Gran Hotel La Florida, Barcelona, reopens in September after an 8-month, €15 million transformation into METT Barcelona by Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG). The 5-star lifestyle hotel offers 70 rooms, two pools, a spa, a gym, and dining spaces. SHG, based in Dubai, plans to create over 80 jobs and attract tourists from the UK, France, Germany, the US, and the Middle East. Future plans include METT Sitges in 2026 with a €20 million investment.
