🏡 Sercotel to manage the renovated former Leonardo hotel in Granada, reopening in September as the 4-star Sercotel HMO Martina Granada with 205 rooms. Owned by Molina Olea Hotelera, the property features a 360-degree rooftop view of Granada and Sierra Nevada, an all-year-round heated indoor pool with a glass ceiling, private parking, four meeting rooms, and a dedicated bus stop area. This adds to Sercotel's presence in Granada alongside Sercotel Palacio de los Gamboa and Sercotel Granada Suites, as part of their expansion in Andalusia. The company operates 86 hotels, with 76 in Spain, 1 in Andorra, 53 managed directly, 24 franchised, and 9 under construction.

🏨 Summum Hotel Group expanded by four establishments with 250 rooms in the past year and plans to add five establishments with 420 rooms this year, and seven with 510 rooms by 2026. Vértice Hoteles and Thius Hotels & Homes are following closely with multiple openings scheduled from 2024 to 2026. The expansion mostly focuses on Spain, with a few chains like SmartRental Group also growing internationally in Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, and Greece. Portugal remains the top choice for international growth among smaller chains.

🏨 Palladium Hotel Group will invest 650 million euros in the next three years for hotel repositioning and expansion, targeting the four main tourism hubs: Caribbean, Mediterranean, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. They plan to open their first urban hotel in Mexico City and have signed an agreement to expand the Hard Rock Hotels brand in Saudi Arabia. The expansion includes branded residences with The Unexpected and Bless brands. The Unexpected Al Marjan Island will feature 422 units between residential use and hotel rooms. Palladium focuses on asset-light strategies and has formed a commercial alliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, mainly targeting American customers. They intend to grow their brands across Europe, America, and the Middle East, with interest in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.

🎾 Meliá Hotels International and Rafa Nadal launched the first ZEL brand hotel in America in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Following ZEL Mallorca's opening in 2023 and ZEL Costa Brava in summer, ZEL Punta Cana, the first all-inclusive lifestyle hotel in the Caribbean, features 190 rooms, seven restaurants, and a beach club. The inauguration was attended by Dominican President Luis Abinader, who highlighted the country's investment appeal. The hotel adopts a biophilic design, integrating with the natural environment and preserving the original architecture. Rafa Nadal's Tennis Academy construction also began at the site.

🏡 The historic Palacio de los Condes de Colomera in Córdoba, established in 1928, has expanded from 44 to 102 rooms. Despite doubling the room count, occupancy rates remained high at 91% in October, as confirmed by the director, Estefanía Romero. The hotel's ADR also increased during peak months. 🏡 Hidden Away Hotels, now Hidden Hotels, targets expansion through ownership and leasing, open to operating third-party hotels. Celebrating their 11th anniversary in Madrid, owners Ignacio Jiménez and Carmen Cordón plan to transform a building in central Lisbon into a five-star luxury hotel, with an investment over 22 million euros, set to open in 2026 after extensive renovation. The Lisbon hotel will feature 51 spacious rooms, 8 suites, a royal suite of over 125 square meters, meeting rooms, art, library, gym, wellness area, 16 parking spaces, and gardens with a pool. 🏖️ Grupo Lopesan's new resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, set to open in March 2026 with a budget over €320 million, boasts more than 1,000 rooms and a convention center. Announced at Berlin's ITB, the resort aims to become the top themed establishment in the Caribbean, notably targeting the North American market with its innovative design, culinary options, and water-connected areas. Additional projects by Lopesan include the refurbishment of Madrid's Miguel Ángel hotel for the 2026 winter season and a proposed 956-room family hotel in Meloneras, Gran Canaria.

🏨 Alegría Hotels incorporated four establishments in 2024, plans to add four more in 2023, all in Spain. Canarian Hospitality added four in the Canary Islands last year and will add two in the archipelago in 2025 plus one on the Costa del Sol next year. Magic Costa Blanca acquired five vacation hotels with over 1,200 rooms, two urban hotels with over 100 rooms in Villarreal (Castellón), and over 150 owned and rented apartments, launching seven establishments last year, and will start two more this year. THB Hotels will introduce one complex in 2024, another this year, and two more next year. Intelier announced in 2024 a sales growth of 30% with 300 new rooms over three years, including openings of Intelier Hera in 2024 and more in Valencia and Benicàssim this year, with a 5-star in Córdoba scheduled for 2027. The renovated Hotel Balneario de Oropesa del Mar will reopen in June as Pontiana Thalasso Hotel after a €13 million refurbishment. Various hotel groups across Spain have detailed plans for expansion with new openings scheduled from 2023 to 2027, including international growth, with chains such as Room 007 leading the way by planning to add 15 hotels per year in Spain, Portugal, and Italy.

🏨 U-Sense, a Spanish hotel chain, is set to open a 35-room hotel in central Málaga and a building of tourist apartments in Madrid by 2026. Currently, the brand operates 7 establishments, including hotels, apartments, and hostels housed in rehabilitated historical buildings in Spain. Launched in 2018, U-Sense continues its expansion, targeting prime locations with historical value, which are highly appreciated by international tourists.
