📍 Barceló Hotel Group reopened Barceló Fès Medina in Fez, Morocco, after a €3.5 million renovation. Acquired in 2022, the hotel has been managed since 2011. The 4-star hotel offers 134 rooms and new culinary spaces, including La Dolce Vita by Michelin-starred chef Niki Pavanelli and Champs Sports Bar. Barceló's total investment in Morocco exceeds €70 million. Fez, the first imperial city of Morocco, is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

🏆 Gran Canaria, May 2023: Monte Feliz - powered by Playitas, Servatur's first sports hotel, hosted the Norwegian Olympic team for a week of training ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. Located in southern Gran Canaria, the hotel offers elite sports facilities, cycling centers, and tailored nutrition menus. Owned by Norwegian shareholders, Servatur operates 32 establishments in the Canary Islands with nearly 5,000 rooms, enhancing Gran Canaria's appeal as a top sports tourism destination.

💸 London & Regional (L+R) chose Marbella for their first Spanish hotel, investing approximately €17 million in its renovation since acquiring it in 2017. Located on the Costa del Sol, the Gran Marbella Resort & Beach Club is an independent luxury hotel focused on international clients, particularly from the UK, US, and Middle East. As part of Iconic Luxury Hotels, it aims to provide a sophisticated experience evoking the spirit of 1950s Marbella.

🏨 In September 2024, construction began on the new Hotel Indigo Gandía Beach, located on the beach's front line. The hotel offers a contemporary design with Mediterranean elements and a chill-out bar by the pool, exclusively for guests. This project marks a milestone for the Andalusian Senator Hotels & Resorts, known for its existing urban hotel Senator Gandía, Senzia Spa, and Marao by Paco Pérez restaurant. The hotel will open in the coming weeks, expanding Senator's portfolio with international brands.

🏖 Gran Marbella Resort & Beach Club opens July 1st, 2025, in Andalucía by Iconic Luxury Hotels. Located on Real de Zaragoza beach, it features 135 rooms (125 with private terraces), 10 suites, 4 pools, a gym, meeting room, and Amù Beach Club with spa. Dining options include the Terraza restaurant and several bars. Designed by Goddard Littlefair, it blends Andalusian and Arabic influences. The launch follows Iconic's Florida debut and Venice acquisition.

🏨 SmartRental Group has signed its seventh property in Portugal, launching its second Akeah brand hotel. Opening in early 2027, Akeah Porto Casa da Música will be near the Casa da Música Museum in Porto, featuring 40 rooms of 22 m² and an innovative dining concept. This hotel aims to be a cultural hub with live music and local art. SmartRental currently operates seven establishments in Portugal, including hotels, apartments, and a hostel.

🏨 Catalonia Hotels & Resorts opens its eighth hotel in Madrid, the Catalonia Plaza España Hotel & Spa, located on Gran Vía. This 4-star hotel features 164 rooms, a 540 m² wellness area, and rooftop amenities. It promotes sustainability with LED lighting, VRV climate control, and photovoltaic panels. Sponsored by the NextGenerationEU plan, the chain has acquired four hotels in the past year and is expanding into Africa with a resort in Zanzibar.

🏨 Barceló Hotel Group reopened Barceló Bilbao Nervión after nearly a year-long renovation by Mil Studios. The 4-star, 350-room hotel in Bilbao revamped its common areas and dining spaces, aiming to be a gastronomic hub. Sustainability was prioritized using natural materials and optimizing light, thermal, and acoustic comfort. The redesign included a new Basque-inspired restaurant, Albergui, focusing on local and international cuisine. The renovation emphasizes hospitality with organic textures and dynamic spaces.

📍 Smy Hotels will manage the 5-star Hotel Pisa Tower Plaza in Italy, following a €16 million purchase agreement. Renovations costing €1.5 million will commence in December 2025. The hotel offers 128 rooms, a rooftop gym, a convention hall for 200, and five meeting rooms. Management begins November 1, 2025. Pisa, with nearly 6 million airport passengers, is a key entry to Tuscany. Smy Hotels aims for further expansion, eyeing Florence next.
