🏨 Fergus Group will integrate the Santa Susanna Resort into its portfolio on January 12, expanding to seven hotels in Catalonia and 35 across Spain. Located in Santa Susanna, the 214-room resort is family-focused, featuring amenities like a water park, sports areas, and a gym. Since entering Catalonia in 2022, Fergus has grown in key coastal areas, investing over €120 million since 2011. Catalonia is now their second-largest market after the Balearic Islands.

🏖 Riu Hotels & Resorts reopened the Riu Jalisco in Riviera Nayarit after a major renovation, adding 120 rooms, totaling 820, some for up to six guests. New features include six pools, two for kids, four for families, a new Sports Bar, and a restaurant. The hotel now boasts eight bars and diverse dining options. Riu reaffirms its commitment to Riviera Nayarit, with notable investments in the area, including Riu Vallarta in 2019 and Riu Palace Pacifico in 2023.

🏖 Grand Palladium Select Bávaro in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, reopened in 2025 after a $61.5 million renovation. The Spanish hotel chain Palladium Hotel Group introduced the Family Selection concept, offering exclusive family services and activities. Guests at Grand Palladium Select Bávaro can access other complex properties, including Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa. Additionally, adults staying in the Family Selection can access TRS Turquesa Hotel's facilities, featuring the restaurant El Gaucho.

🏠 Be Casa, managed by Greystar, opened Be Casa Barakaldo in the Basque Country, marking its first expansion beyond Madrid. Located near the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, it offers furnished studios and one-bedroom apartments for short and long stays. This fifth project in Spain features communal areas like a gym, coworking spaces, and a rooftop. The initiative aims to support community living and adaptability to modern residential trends, as noted by Marino Laso, Senior Marketing Manager.

🏨 Catalonia Hotels & Resorts acquired two four-star hotels from Meridia: one in Málaga and another in Barcelona. In Málaga's historic center, the 103-room Catalonia Molina Lario becomes their third hotel in the city. The 110-room Gallery Hotel in Barcelona, renamed Catalonia Boulevard, boosts their total to 30 hotels with 3,200 rooms. Expanding rapidly, Catalonia adds over 1,200 rooms globally and has 82 hotels across 25+ destinations. The company is also developing resorts in Jamaica and Zanzibar.

📈 Ibervalles Hoteles Socimi, on Friday, debuted on BME Scaleup with a valuation of €93 million, trading at €18.20 per share. The company plans to optimize hotel assets through strategic repositioning. Ibervalles owns two hotels in Spain and a 35.7% stake in Portugal's Cascais Miragem Health & Spa. In Madrid, it develops a luxury hotel opening in 2028. BME Scaleup aims to support SMEs with 14 companies joining in 2025, totaling over 150 listed.

🏨 Riu plans to expand in London with a second hotel, The Westminster London, currently by Curio Collection by Hilton, featuring 464 rooms, a private bowling alley reopened in 2021, three meeting rooms, and a restaurant. The acquisition is set to complete in January. The hotel is situated 20 minutes from Riu Plaza London Victoria. Riu has not commented on the transaction. Hilton’s Curio Collection operates over 180 hotels globally.

🏠 SmartRental Group will open a new location in Athens, Greece, in January 2026 under the Smartr Stays brand. Smartr Athens Tzavella will offer 18 units: six studios, seven superior studios, and five apartments. This marks their third project in Athens, complementing Akeah Athens City Center and SUIO Athens Piraeus. SmartRental operates over 4,300 rooms and 5,000 beds across Europe. Expansion plans target the UK, Italy, Hungary, Germany, and Greece.
