Las agencias alertan de las graves consecuencias del registro documental

🛄 El Real Decreto 933/2021, efectivo desde el 1 de octubre, obliga a agencias de viajes en España a reportar datos de reservas a Interior, lo que genera inseguridad jurídica en el sector, indican FETAVE, ACAVe y UNAV. La normativa, sin aclaraciones suficientes, puede resultar en sanciones, colapsar medios administrativos de pymes y micropymes, y afectar la protección de datos de viajeros. El Ministerio del Interior confirmó el 4 de julio que no habrá más aplazamientos ni aclaraciones. FETAVE denunció ante la Comisión Europea la posible ilegalidad del Decreto, y ECTAA expresó su preocupación a la CE.

El turismo receptivo en Europa aumentará un 12% este verano

🏖️ European Tourism Association (ETOA) and Forwardkeys report Europe is set for an "exceptional summer" with incoming tourism expected to exceed previous records by 12% over last year. International arrivals in July and August surpass the global growth of 11%. Asia-Pacific market is rebounding with a notable increase of 11%, and the U.S. market is up by 21%. Urban destinations see the highest growth rates, with Munich (+37%), Vienna (+23%), Zurich (+23%), Prague (+22%), and Budapest (+21%) leading. Demand for economy seats has grown by 11%, while premium remains at a 1% increase. Central and Eastern Europe's incoming tourism is up by 23%, Northern Europe by 12%, and Southern Europe by 10%. China and Japan's travel to Europe is surging by 64% and 53%, respectively. Big events like the Euro 2024 and the Olympics contribute significantly to tourism, with Germany gaining a 19% increase in arrivals. Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concerts also boost city visits, such as Stockholm (+136%), Warsaw (+203%), and London (+45%).

Los acreedores de Thomas Cook recibirán algunos pagos cinco años después

💰 Thomas Cook's creditors to receive part of outstanding payments, with the liquidator announcing a return of £280 million (over €330 million) from asset liquidation, including Thomas Cook Airlines' slots, hotel investments, and over 550 travel agencies sold to Hays Travel. David Chapman, the appointed liquidator, is working on finalizing the process involving 57 different entities. Creditors must submit claims by August 2, with expected payments by the end of September. Thomas Cook collapsed in September 2019 due to a debt over £1.1 billion (over €1.3 billion), acquired by Fosun International for £11 million (€12.75 million) to relaunch as an online travel agency.

A los Juegos Olímpicos de París desde Barcelona en tren: refuerzo de SNCF

🏅 In anticipation of the 2024 Olympics, SNCF has increased its long-distance connections between France and Catalonia, adding a third daily frequency on its high-speed TGV INOUI line, the only direct route linking Barcelona and Paris. From July 6 to September 1, SNCF Voyageurs released over 4 million long-distance tickets to accommodate Olympic demand. The TGV INOUI line connects Barcelona, Girona, Figueres with over 20 Olympic venues in the Paris area and Île-de-France, and includes eight intermediate stops. Nearly 14 million seats are available for the expected 10+ million tourists during July, August, and September for the Paris 2024 Games.

El Grupo Tribu compra a la Sareb un solar para crecer en Cádiz

Sevilla tendrá un nuevo hotel 5 estrellas gran lujo en 2026

🏦 Jarquil started transforming a 20th-century office building in Sevilla into a 5-star luxury hotel, set to be completed in Q1 2026. Serras Hotel Collection will manage the 45-room hotel facing the Cathedral on Avenida de la Constitución. Antonio Bignone, CEO, announced the deal with Banco Santander for a 30-year variable lease in early 2023. The property, originally Marquis of Villamarta's residence, later Banco Popular's headquarters, will feature a rooftop terrace and will preserve historical elements, redesigned by Eddea Arquitectura y Urbanismo.
