CEAV no descarta acciones legales contra el registro documental de agencias

Exceltur: El turismo seguirá creciendo este verano pero ralentiza su avance

🏖️ Exceltur anticipates a 5.3% growth in tourist activities for the third quarter compared to the previous summer, with an increase in the tourism GDP of 7.4% in Q2 2024 following a 9.1% rise in Q1. Uno de cada tres euros invertidos en hoteles fue al segmento de lujo

🏨 En los primeros seis meses de 2024, se vendieron 8.350 habitaciones hoteleras en 71 operaciones, alcanzando una inversión de 1.393 millones de euros. El 33% del total se destinó a hoteles de 5 estrellas y gran lujo. El 53% de la inversión fue a hoteles urbanos, con Málaga liderando en transacciones (5) y 100 millones de euros. Barcelona fue el segundo destino de inversión con 300 millones de euros en 13 operaciones. Baleares lideró con 415 millones de euros, siendo el Six Senses Ibiza la venta más destacada, superando los 1,5 millones de euros por habitación. Los inversores nacionales representaron el 57% de la inversión total. El pipeline de operaciones a futuro asciende a 1.500 millones de euros, con expectativas de alcanzar 3.000 millones de euros en inversión anual.

IHG amplía su presencia en España con cuatro nuevos hoteles

🏨 IHG Hotels & Resorts announces the signing of four new hotels in Spain, adding over 500 rooms across the Luxury & Lifestyle (Hotel Indigo), Premium (voco hotels), and Essentials (Holiday Inn Express) collections. The expansion, expected to increase room numbers by 10% in the Iberian Peninsula, comprises: 82-room Hotel Indigo in Jerez de la Frontera expected to open in Spring 2026; 167-room voco Granada slated for Spring 2026; 148-room Holiday Inn Express Sevilla - City, and 130-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sabadell, including 20 suites, joining by the end of 2025. Currently, IHG operates 55 hotels in Spain and has opened 10 in the last five years.

El hotel urbano de Piñero en Palma verá la luz a finales de 2025

🏨 The Piñero family, owners of Grupo Piñero, have started a new hotel project in Palma's El Terreno neighborhood, where they've been for 40 years. They aim to open the urban hotel between late 2025 and early 2026. The construction includes two buildings at 73 and 75 Joan Miró Street; one, dating back to 1932 by architect Francesc Casas Llompart, will be refurbished, and the other will be a new sustainable building with LEED and Passivhaus energy efficiency certifications. The hotel will offer 40 rooms, 20 in each building, and obtained a construction license in early 2022 for a 4-star hotel. The project emphasizes local talent and suppliers from Mallorca and will include spaces showcasing local artisans, artists, and designers to revitalize the neighborhood with cultural and gastronomic activities.

Nuevo decreto valenciano: ningún hotel a menos de 200 metros de la costa

📌 El Consell de Gobierno de la Comunidad Valenciana aprobó el nuevo "Decreto Ley de Simplificación", que se alinea con la Ley de Costas del Estado, estipulando que no se permitirá la construcción de hoteles a menos de 200 metros de la costa. El decreto, publicado en el DOGV, responde a las inquietudes de PSPV y Compromís sobre la protección del litoral y clarifica que los usos permitidos entre 100 y 200 metros de la costa serán de construcciones desmontables. El proyecto de Ley del Litoral, actualmente en trámite, también seguirá estas directrices, manteniendo la servidumbre de protección de la costa.

Hesperia factura un 22% más hasta junio, tras cerrar 2023 con ventas récord

🏨 Grupo Inversor Hesperia (GIHSA) reported a revenue of €165 million in 2023, a 22% increase from 2022's €135.5 million. Pre-pandemic (2019) revenue was €137 million. After-tax profit stood at €4 million. In the first half of 2024, sales reached €88 million, marking another 22% increase. ADR rose to €153, surpassing the previous year’s €130, and RevPar grew by 29%. Net assets totaled €400 million, with asset values reaching €859 million. CEO Jordi Ferrer highlighted the company’s strong business model and growth. Renovations have been completed on several properties, and expansion includes entering Andorra and Valencia markets. A luxury hotel tower project in Málaga port is underway, set to elevate the city’s status.
