🔎 Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is the top priority for 46% of over 300 industry leaders surveyed by Amadeus for the "Navigating the Future" study, with the figure rising to 61% in Asia-Pacific. Other technological priorities include data management (38%), cloud architecture (36%), non-generative AI computing infrastructure (34%), and biometric technology (23%). 51% report significant generative AI presence in their country’s travel sector, 36% expect it within a year, 11% in 1-2 years, and only 2% see it taking over three years. 41% of travel companies have the budget and resources for implementation; 87% are open to working with external providers to develop AI-powered applications. Data security (35%), lack of experience (34%), data quality and inadequate infrastructure (33%), ROI concerns (30%), and difficulty in partnering (29%) are the top deployment challenges. Digital traveler assistance (53%), activity recommendations (48%), content generation (47%), staff support (45%), and travel feedback compilation (45%) lead the use cases. Sylvain Roy, Amadeus Technology Director, stresses the transformative potential of generative AI and the importance of data security and content reliability.
