🇧🇷 Brasil began a promotional campaign in Madrid highlighting its cultural and natural attractions ahead of Fitur 2025, where it's the guest country of honor. Starting on Madrid's EMT buses, the ads will later expand to the Metro and areas like Goya, Velázquez, and Serrano. The campaign coincides with Fitur, from January 22 to 26 at Ifema, aiming to position Brazil as a top tourism destination. Brazil saw a 12% increase in international arrivals in 2024, reaching 6.6 million visitors, the highest since 1970. The campaign targets the European market, particularly Spain, where tourist arrivals are expected to grow 10% by 2025, thanks to expanded air routes. Brazil's Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, believes Fitur 2025 is an excellent opportunity to promote the country's diverse cultural and natural landscapes.

✈ Mexicana de Aviación, once touted by former President Andrés López Obrador as Mexico's aeronautical solution, slashes 8 of its 17 routes, exiting destinations such as Campeche, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, and Ixtapa. Managed by Mexico's Ministry of Defense, the airline fell short of its 3 million passenger target for 2027, ending the year with just 382,000 passengers. ✈ Iberia, to maintain flights between Madrid and Santo Domingo, contracted Wamos Air and Iberojet due to fleet shortage from A330 maintenance. The service started on December 18 and will continue until at least December 29. Wamos Air contributes an A330-300 seating 292 passengers, whereas Iberojet provides an A330-900 with a capacity of 310 travelers. Iberia currently operates 9 weekly flights on this route, increasing to 12 in January and planning 10 per week in February and March.
