Puente saca pecho: “El tren vive el mejor momento de su historia”
🚂 Óscar Puente, Spain's Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, in his Senate appearance, claimed Spain currently has unparalleled rail service. Compared to 1992, when only six trains moved in each direction daily with 4,164 seats, today sees 532 trains transporting 115,000 people daily, with 76% on-time arrivals. Despite acknowledging Renfe's operational challenges this summer, he criticized the opposition's "partisan and irresponsible" critiques and defended ending AVE's punctuality commitment, citing extensive infrastructure work and economic sustainability.
