Todas las aerolíneas se marchan de Kuwait

🛫 British Airways suspends its daily flights to Kuwait after 60 years of operation. Thirteen other airlines have already left the small emirate, despite growth in the Gulf region. Market reasons cited for the departure by Lufthansa and KLM in September 2024. Kuwait's airport suffered a passenger drop of 1%, while neighboring Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Dubai airports saw an increase of 25%, 17%, and 8% respectively. Factors include high aviation fuel prices, poor airport services, and higher profitability and demand in nearby airports (excluding Iran).

Brutal viraje de un A320 de Easyjet durante una frustrada

Un A320 de Vueling declara emergencia tras salir de Barcelona

💸 A Vueling Airbus A320 declared an emergency shortly after taking off from Barcelona-El Prat due to a technical issue with its landing gear. The crew requested to return to the airport, performed checks and fuel dumping. After a direct approach with priority to runway 06L, the aircraft landed without incident but temporarily blocked the runway, necessitating increased separation between incoming flights. The incident was reported by air traffic controllers on their X account.

Emirates busca 1.500 pilotos

🏩 Emirates is aiming to recruit 1,500 new pilots, with 550 needed this year, to manage its fleet of 261 aircraft which includes the largest fleet of A380s, numerous B777s, and the new A350s. The airline offers numerous benefits including tax-free salary, housing, a rapid promotion program for first officers to become captains—already 80 are in the process. Emirates will scout for pilots in 40 cities worldwide, starting with Scandinavia.

Emergencia en un avión de Vueling con 52 viajeros del Imserso

🚀 Yesterday, 52 Imserso travelers were affected by an emergency landing of a Vueling Airbus A320 due to smoke in the cabin. The plane, carrying over a hundred people, was en route from Barcelona to La Coruña. The passengers included at least fifty Galician retirees from a senior tourism program. Following the incident, the affected passengers were accommodated in a Barcelona hotel for two nights, with all expenses covered by Vueling. They are scheduled to return to La Coruña on Friday. An alternative bus return was offered but declined by most.

España intenta recuperarse tras un apagón histórico

🔌 Spain experienced an unprecedented blackout affecting 15 communities, leaving tens of thousands stranded at railroads and airports. The outage paused 116 medium and long-distance trains and impacted 30,000-35,000 people, with a 20% restriction on air traffic capacity and 23 Iberia flights canceled. The Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla were unaffected. By 06:00 on Tuesday, April 29, 99.16% of the mainland's energy demand (21,265 megawatts) was restored after the outage began on Monday around 12:30. Causes are yet unknown, but Red Eléctrica cites a strong fluctuation in power flow. Air traffic was significantly reduced, and the Lisbon airport reported over 200 flights canceled or delayed.
