Imserso: los pensionistas se olvidan de los viajes de 15 días

  • Alex Cuenca
  • 6 December 2024
🏖 Participants in the Imserso social tourism program are generally satisfied with current trip durations, with preferences for 7-night stays in the Balearic Islands, 9-night stays in the Canary Islands, and appropriate durations for inland tourism. However, some believe a minimum 10-day stay in Fuerteventura would be better. The absence of the 15-day trips, eliminated in 2022 despite the disagreement from hoteliers and users, is noted. The former director of Imserso, Luis Alberto Barriga, reported that only 3% demanded the 15-day trips, while 97% preferred shorter durations.

La vivienda turística entra en campaña: las propuestas del PSOE y de Airbnb

  • Automatic
  • 6 December 2024
🏠 PSOE aims to increase public housing to over 6% and rehabilitate 1.5 million homes by 2030, while reducing housing cost burdens below 7%. Key measures include progressive property tax from the third home, elimination of illegal tourist flats, and empowering municipalities to define tense zones. Airbnb's study by PwC suggests short-term rentals have a minimal 0.3% impact on housing prices over five years, challenging excessive regulations that limit accommodation options and increase hotel prices. Airbnb proposes four regulatory principles including justified regulations, a simple registration system, differentiated treatment for occasional rentals, and promoting travel dispersion to new destinations.

✈ World2Fly, an airline owned by Iberostar's W2M, plans ten flights from Madrid to Uzbekistan from September to November 2025. The airline's initial venture to this Asian country included 13 flights with Airbus A330, operated by one of its tour operators, Kannak, following the Silk Road program. Over 3,800 passengers experienced these cultural and scenic journeys. Iberojet, operated by rival Ávoris, scheduled ten flights to Uzbekistan from April to June, avoiding a direct clash with W2M.

Hoteles inteligentes: Del espejo digital a la experiencia personalizada para incrementar los ingresos

  • Sfaura
  • 5 December 2024
🏨 The hotel industry is leveraging attribute-based selling and digital twins to enhance guest experience and revenue. Low-cost airlines have seen up to 50% of their GOP contribution from extras like seat selection, with passengers paying 5% more to avoid middle seats. Hotel guests, who typically stay over two nights in cities and over five in resorts, value room customization even more. Recent research suggests guests are willing to pay up to 10% more for specific room features, potentially increasing Gross Operating Profit (GOP) by 30%. Technology platforms and APIs are critical to managing the complexity of room types and attributes. Industry leaders like Amadeus and Sabre are setting standards for adopting these innovations. This shift towards hyper-personalization and transparency is key to competitive differentiation in the hotel market.
