Racismo de islamistas contra turistas islamistas

  • Miguel Praga
  • 11 February 2025
🚩 Turkey has seen a drop in Arab tourism by 20-40% due to accusations of racism, with reduced travel stemming from violence and police inaction. The decline, up to 40%, varies by region and particularly affects visitors from the south, the Gulf, and surrounding areas. Incidents of violence, including fatalities, against Arabs in Turkish cities have been widely shared, causing diplomatic representations to investigate and sometimes intervene. Reports from 2022 suggest a rise in anti-Arab campaigns, with embassies filing numerous complaints to Turkish authorities, often without response, and security firms being hired for protection. Arabs also report price inflation by three to four times compared to other tourists.

Guía de supervivencia del hotelero: el “sesgo del superviviente” y cómo analizar la demanda real de tu hotel (Parte 2)

  • Marta Romero1
  • 10 February 2025
📃 Analyzing hotel demand requires looking beyond successful bookings to consider lost opportunities, emulating the WWII Allied bombers' "survivorship bias" solution, as per Abraham Wald's realization. KPIs like generated bookings, cancellations, and unconverted demand, when fully scrutinized, offer a complete picture of a hotel's real demand. Effective strategies include adjusting restrictions, optimizing inventory, monitoring conversion rates, ensuring competitive pricing, and launching timely promotions. Maximizing existing demand before seeking new leads can significantly enhance sales and profitability without extra costs.
