Barcelona: sale al mercado el hotel de moda en la periferia por 130 M€

🏨 Barcelona's hotel market sees the recent listing of the modern skyscraper-housed Tembo hotel, opened last year, featuring 280 suites, a 4-star category and a sale price of around 130 million euros. The Swiss family-owned property, part of Stahler Group, is located at 479-487 Ramón Lluc Street in La Mina neighborhood. The Swiss promoter's investment reached nearly 80 million euros for land purchase and construction. Despite 22 hotel transactions last year, Barcelona's investment dropped by 5.5% to 578 million euros from 2023's 612 million euros.

Kayak fusiona las metabúsquedas de viajes con ChatGPT

🏡 Kayak, part of Booking Holdings, launched Kayak.ai, an experimental platform integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT technology, designed to test AI-based travel tools. Kayak.ai provides real-time travel information from over 400 providers in a conversational search interface. Successful features from Kayak.ai will be integrated into Kayak.com. The initiative is led by Kayak's new CTO Yaron Zeidman, offering users features like finding destinations under 500 euros, locating direct flights, weekend deals, comparing hotels, monitoring flights, and planning trips with updated pricing.

El turismo extranjero se dispara en 2025, pero no en los hoteles ¿Dónde?

🏨 Los hoteles en España experimentaron un crecimiento del 1,3% en viajeros extranjeros en el primer trimestre de 2023, mientras que las viviendas turísticas de alquiler vieron un aumento del 8,8%. España recibió casi 17,1 millones de turistas internacionales entre enero y marzo, un 5,7% más que en el mismo periodo de 2024. Alojamiento hotelero: 9.982.298 turistas (+1,37%), vivienda de alquiler: 2.343.593 turistas (+8,87%). El gasto medio turístico fue de 1.378 euros por viajero, con un leve aumento del 1,4%.

Dormir en un hotel español alcanza los 139€ de media

🏨 Dormir en un hotel español en los primeros tres meses de 2025 costó 139,4 euros de media, marcando un incremento del 5% respecto al mismo periodo de 2024. Madrid, Barcelona y Baleares registraron aumentos significativos en el ADR, con Madrid liderando a 11,4%. Las Islas Canarias presentaron el mayor ADR con 171,6 euros. El RevPAR a nivel nacional creció un 5,8%, con Canarias en cabeza con 145,2 euros. La ocupación hotelera mejoró ligeramente a 68,6%, con Canarias (84,6%), Málaga (73,2%) y Sevilla (72,5%) mostrando los registros más altos. En contraste, Bilbao y Valencia experimentaron caídas en ADR de 8,4% y 5,7%, respectivamente, y Valencia también registró disminuciones en los tres indicadores principales.

La marca hotelera de lujo St. Regis debuta en República Dominicana

🏡 Acebal Canney Arquitectos & Asociados designed The St. Regis Cap Cana and Crafted by CHAPI Design did the interior. The luxury hotel, close to Punta Cana International Airport and an hour from La Romana International Airport, boasts 200 deluxe rooms, including 36 suites with direct pool access and a 600 sqm Presidential Suite. The St. Regis Cap Cana features four pools, a children’s club, butler service, nine restaurants, a spa with 14 treatment rooms, a gym, 650 sqm of event space, and proximity to the exclusive Jack Nicklaus-designed Punta Espada golf course. España recibió más de 17 millones de turistas extranjeros hasta marzo

🏖️ Spain welcomed 17.1 million international tourists in the first quarter of 2025, a 5.7% increase over the same period in 2024, with a corresponding tourist expenditure of €23.506 billion, up 7.2%. The leading source countries were the UK (3.1 million tourists, up 4.6%), France (over 2.1 million, up 7.1%), and Germany (nearly 2.1 million, down 0.1%). Canarias (4.4 million, up 2.1%), Cataluña (3.6 million, up 6.4%), and Andalucía (2.5 million, up 7.4%) were the top regions visited. The UK also led in spending at 15.9% of the total, followed by Germany (12.3%) and Nordic countries (8.8%). In March alone, 56.6% of spend was by tourists staying in hotels, a 2% increase, while non-market accommodations saw a 29% increase in spending.

Tristan Capital compra EasyHotel por más de 242 millones de euros

🏨 Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of the Easy brand family, announced the acquisition of 100% of EasyHotel Ltd by European Property Investors Special Opportunities 6, a fund advised by Tristan Capital Partners. The deal, subject to shareholder approval, values EasyHotel at approximately €242 million, with Haji-Ioannou's family office holding a 17.38% share. EasyHotel operates in Spain with hotels in Barcelona, Málaga, and Madrid and is expanding with new openings in Barcelona on July 7, Valencia by the end of 2025, and Alicante in 2026, supported by a €29.2 million refinancing agreement with CaixaBank. The brand has 43 hotels across Europe with around 4900 rooms, including 32 owned and leased, and 17 franchised properties.
