Las agencias se sienten maniatadas para cumplir con el registro de viajeros

  • Hosteltur
  • 25 March 2025
📈 Eva Blasco, Vice President of International Relations at CEAV, criticized the impractical bureaucracy imposed on travel agencies by Real Decreto 933/2021. She mentioned that agencies struggle with manual data entry, using tools like Excel. The sector is firmly requesting exclusion from this regulation, which they believe should be enforced by accommodations at check-in. FETAVE, led by re-elected President César Gutiérrez Calvo, echoed this sentiment and noted the lack of response from the European Commission to a complaint filed in January 2023. Legal action is considered if their concerns are not addressed in the upcoming ministerial order.

Booking “agotará todas las vías legales para defender sus derechos”

  • Hosteltur
  • 24 March 2025
🚿 Matthias Schmid of Booking.com asserts that hotels have always been free to make their own decisions regarding their business with Booking.com, and claims no harm has been caused to partners. Booking.com challenged a CNMC decision with the Audiencia Nacional, which suspended the decision, obligations, and proposed sanction during the appeal. Schmid emphasizes a TJUE ruling from September 19 is misinterpreted, as it does not deem price parity clauses illegal or necessarily harmful, nor does it support claims for damages.
