Be Live sale del Caribe tras dejar su último hotel de Cuba

🏡 Be Live Copacabana in Havana, owned by Cubanacán, leased to Chinese firms Hainergy New Energy Corp and Hong Jianghua International Hotel Management as announced at FitCuba 2025. Be Live's portfolio shrank from over 10,000 rooms to 800+, exiting the Caribbean and leaving 7 hotels in Spain and 3 in Morocco. The brand had 34 hotels across several countries and Be Live's international presence dropped by 77% or 2,920 rooms. In 2023, Globalia's Be Live reached an agreement with Hyatt to manage their Caribbean hotels, while Stoneweg and Bain Capital acquired two Globalia hotels in Spain.

Together they presented at the Fiturtechy hotel of the future showcase, featuring smart signage and alert systems for the hearing impaired. Bilbao sets an example with Ilunion Hotels' unique inclusive tourism model, where 60% of the staff are disabled or vulnerable, and the San Mamés hotel operates with 80% disabled and 15% vulnerable staff. Bilbao is recognized for its accessibility, with Guggenheim Museum providing tactile tours and the San Mamés stadium offering accompaniment programs.

Palladium añade más lujo a uno de sus hoteles de Riviera Maya

🏖️ Palladium Hotel Group announced the renovation and rebranding of Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa to Grand Palladium Select White Sand in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The transformation begins June 1, 2025, and completes January 1, 2026, with a $6 million investment. The resort will have 425 rooms, starting with the Junior Suite, and offer Pool Concierge, daily restocked mini bars, premium drinks, free room service for 12 hours, unlimited access to amenities, and preferential rates for gastroshows. Grand Palladium Select Collection was launched in January, adding Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres, Grand Palladium Select Palace Ibiza, and opening Grand Palladium Select Bávaro in December 2025.

Catalonia abre su segundo hotel en Málaga, tras una inversión de 24 M €

🏨 Catalonia Hotels & Resorts opened the 4-star Catalonia Puerta del Mar in Málaga, their second hotel in the city, post a €24 million investment since 2018. It features 74 domotically advanced rooms, a gym, and a gastrobar. Sustainability measures include LED lighting, VRV air conditioning with heat recovery, advanced elevators, thermal insulation, greywater treatment for toilet flushing, and drip irrigation for planters. The hotel chain grows in Andalusia with eight hotels and plans further expansion with an upcoming hotel in Madrid, and a flagship resort in Zanzibar. Recently recognized as Spain's "most welcoming hotel chain" at the Traveller Review Awards 2025 by Booking.com, it also won "Family Business of the Year" in February 2024 and "Los tres Pioneros" in March at the CETT Alimara Awards.

El grupo irlandés Dalata abrirá su primer hotel en España con Insur

🏨 Grupo Insur and Dalata Hotel Group signed a lease for a hotel in Valdebebas, Madrid, near Madrid-Barajas airport. The Clayton Hotel Madrid Valdebebas, a 4-star property with 243 rooms, restaurant, bar, meeting/event facilities, outdoor pool, and gym, will open in Q1 2029 following a €50 million investment by Insur for a 15-year lease. The hotel aims for LEED Gold certification for energy efficiency and sustainable design. The Irish company, founded in 2007, manages 55 hotels with Clayton and Maldron brands, and the Madrid hotel marks its first in Spain, enhancing its international portfolio and positioning in key business and luxury tourism destinations. Advised by Savills and Zurbarán Abogados, the partnership emphasizes Insur's commitment to sustainable real estate in prime locations.

Fergus abre en Ibiza el hotel que acoge el Hippy Market de Es Canar

🏖️ Fergus Group will open the 4-star Fergus Style Punta Arabí hotel in Ibiza on May 15, upgraded from 2 stars as part of the company's asset transformation drive. The hotel boasts 329 rooms, an outdoor pool, three restaurants, three bars, and a gym. It hosts the Hippy Market of Es Canar every Wednesday, the oldest and largest in Ibiza with over 500 stalls. Managed by Raúl Ariza, the hotel aims to be a lifestyle benchmark on the east coast of Ibiza. Fergus Group, led by Pep Cañellas, now operates 32 establishments in prime locations across the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Andalusia, and Catalonia.

El turista español gasta más pero reserva antes para aprovechar las ofertas

🏖️ Los españoles gastaron en promedio 590 euros en reservas hoteleras en 2025, un aumento del 4% respecto a 2024, reservando con 68 días de antelación según Amimir.com. El buscador tiene más de 900,000 establecimientos y la tendencia al alza en antelación se ve como un cambio en la organización de vacaciones. Con más de 55,000 opiniones verificadas, el 98% de los clientes volvería a reservar. Destinos preferidos incluyen Salou, Benidorm, Roquetas de Mar, Barcelona, Madrid y Canarias, con estancias medias de tres noches.

Barcelona: sale al mercado el hotel de moda en la periferia por 130 M€

🏨 Barcelona's hotel market sees the recent listing of the modern skyscraper-housed Tembo hotel, opened last year, featuring 280 suites, a 4-star category and a sale price of around 130 million euros. The Swiss family-owned property, part of Stahler Group, is located at 479-487 Ramón Lluc Street in La Mina neighborhood. The Swiss promoter's investment reached nearly 80 million euros for land purchase and construction. Despite 22 hotel transactions last year, Barcelona's investment dropped by 5.5% to 578 million euros from 2023's 612 million euros.

Kayak fusiona las metabúsquedas de viajes con ChatGPT

🏡 Kayak, part of Booking Holdings, launched Kayak.ai, an experimental platform integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT technology, designed to test AI-based travel tools. Kayak.ai provides real-time travel information from over 400 providers in a conversational search interface. Successful features from Kayak.ai will be integrated into Kayak.com. El turismo extranjero se dispara en 2025, pero no en los hoteles ¿Dónde?

🏨 Los hoteles en España experimentaron un crecimiento del 1,3% en viajeros extranjeros en el primer trimestre de 2023, mientras que las viviendas turísticas de alquiler vieron un aumento del 8,8%. España recibió casi 17,1 millones de turistas internacionales entre enero y marzo, un 5,7% más que en el mismo periodo de 2024. Alojamiento hotelero: 9.982.298 turistas (+1,37%), vivienda de alquiler: 2.343.593 turistas (+8,87%). El gasto medio turístico fue de 1.378 euros por viajero, con un leve aumento del 1,4%.
