The JW Marriott Marquis follows at 355 meters, along with the SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences, Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, Burj Al Arab, Emirates Tower Two, and The Tower Plaza Hotel, all exceeding 290 meters. Outside Dubai, Baiyoke Tower II in Bangkok, and Wuxi Maoye City in China, both stand at 304 meters. Abraj Al Bait ZamZam in Mecca is 279 meters tall.

Al Nowais aims for governance reform, ecological regeneration, and digital equity. She is a finance graduate from Zayed University and holds leadership roles in UAE’s tourism sector.

Theoharis advocates for growth, transparency, and unity, Al Nowais focuses on governance reform, and Guevara emphasizes strategic planning and partnerships. Adam is supported by the African Union. 40+ countries are not currently UNWTO members, including the US and Canada. Spain is a key tourism hub but under-leveraged according to Guevara.

Pololikashvili, after two terms since January 2018, lost Georgia’s support unilaterally and Spain opposed his third term. The October 2023 UNWTO Assembly in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, rejected his reappointment. UAE’s Nasser, with a Business Administration degree from Zayed University and vice president at Rotana, is among six candidates, including Mexico, Greece, Ghana, and Tunisia.
