🛫 easyHotel to open its second hotel in Madrid, expected in the spring of 2025, located in the San Blas-Canillejas district with 94 rooms, a breakfast restaurant, an outdoor terrace, and parking for 30 vehicles, including electric chargers. The construction transforms an old office block, creating 11 jobs. Redentum Partners developed the project, with Colliers advising. Part of the investment comes from a €23 million capital commitment by Ivanhoe Cambridge and ICAMAP, released at the milestone of 49 hotels. The hotel incorporates sustainability with low-carbon rooms, recycled materials, a complete energy infrastructure renovation, an aerothermal hot water system, solar panels, and a battery management system. Karim Malak, CEO of easyHotel, emphasizes the importance of the Spanish market, with plans for expansion in Alicante, Valencia, and Barcelona Meridiana.

🏠 Vestige Collection opens a luxury accommodation in a 18th-century manorial house in mid-October near Palma Cathedral, accommodating 18 guests. Miramar features 8 en-suite rooms plus a 9th bedroom with a private bath, a 31m2 heated indoor pool, cinema, library, office, solarium terrace, and a gym. It joins Vestige's two other establishments in the Balearic Islands: Hotel Son Vell and Santa Ana estate in Menorca. Guests can hire a private chef and use a concierge service for dining and outings.

🏡 Emin Capital and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts set to open Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor in August, post-renovation of Hotel Formentor bought in 2020. The luxury hotel will boost employment, tripling the staff to 460. With 110 sea-view rooms, some with private pools, the resort features a spa, pools, gym, outdoor yoga, a tennis court, and 5 dining areas. Emin Capital purchased the hotel from Grupo Barceló for €165 million; sustainability efforts predict a 42% energy savings and LEED Gold certification. The property spans 1,250 hectares with eco-friendly vineyards and a 3-hectare organic garden.

📢 The Asociación de Ejecutivas de Empresas Turísticas de España (ASEET) was founded in 2019 to increase women's visibility in the tourism sector, where they represent 60% of the workforce. A total of 48 black flags were awarded for environmental issues across several categories: 16 for sewage and purification deficiencies, 15 for coastal urbanization, 6 for chemical, light, and noise pollution, 4 for biodiversity impact, 3 for marine litter, 3 for unjustified port dredging and expansions, and 1 for damages to historical and cultural heritage. The initiative aims to raise awareness and calls for improvement since 2005, inspecting over 8,000 kilometers of Spain's coastline.
