🏠 In summer 2024, an explosive increase in tourist accommodation added approximately 50,000 places, totaling 388,453. Madrid, Valencia, and Málaga led the growth with rates of 24.8%, 26.8%, and 17.8%, respectively. Madrid's 84,700 tourist apartments nearly matched its 92,400 hotel places. Valencia's 37,500 vacation rentals surpassed 20,600 hotel accommodations, while Málaga's 39,600 tripled its 14,100 hotel places. Sevilla and Alicante also saw significant increases of 19.4% and 17.8%, respectively. Smaller destinations like Santander and Gijón experienced 15.4% and 14.4% rises. In contrast, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, and Pamplona reduced their offerings by 8.9%, 8.3%, and 15%, respectively.
