El turismo, clave para contener la prima de riesgo española
🏖️ Tourism in Spain hit €155.946 billion in 2022, 11.6% of GDP, with a 3.9% increase from 2021. It generated over 1.9 million jobs, 9.3% of total employment. In 2023, tourism revenues reached €84.900 billion from 85 million foreign visitors. The sector surpassed other Spanish economic exporters, contributing a €59.600 billion surplus by subtracting the €25.300 billion spent by Spanish travelers abroad. Tourism's indirect impact includes 30 cents per euro on food and beverage and 20 cents on wholesale and retail. Tourism accounted for 28% of new jobs and 0.6 percentage points of Spain's GDP growth in 2023. Despite its significance, the sector's innovation spending lags, and it faces challenges in workforce attraction and business scaling.
