27 provincias ya tienen más plazas en viviendas turísticas que en hoteles

🏠 In Spain, tourist accommodation capacity has grown with the rise of vacation rentals, surpassing hotel capacity in 27 provinces. For every hotel bed, there are about 1.27 vacation rental beds. Hotel stays hit 363.6 million in 2023, a 4.9% increase from the previous year, with 14,613 hotels offering 1.57 million beds, up by 2.5%. Vacation rentals reached nearly 400,000, offering 1.99 million beds, up by 14%. Alicante leads with 3.05 vacation rental beds for each hotel bed.

El hotel Palace de Muro reabre en junio: estrena nombre e instalaciones

🏠 The 5-star establishment located on Playa de Muro will now be known as Sarena de Muro Resort Mallorca, part of Destination by Hyatt. Hyatt announced last year the asset would carry its brand, but the exact opening date and renovation details, including the name change, were not yet disclosed. The comprehensive transformation aims to offer an even more exclusive and comfortable experience. Notable improvements include an upgraded main restaurant with sea views, two terraces, and a more welcoming à la carte restaurant with a private terrace. Additionally, the lobby bar will be relocated near the reception with a large bar and terrace. Enhancements to the reception area feature improved lighting and optimized sea views. The hall has been fully redesigned with new furniture and finishes. Rooms and bathrooms will undergo a complete overhaul with new finishes, facilities, and exterior carpentry. Spa facilities will also be renovated with new treatment rooms. Sarena de Muro Resort Mallorca is set to open in June.

Ayudas de 7 M € para proyectos turísticos de comarcas afectadas por la DANA

🏖 The Ministry of Industry and Tourism and the Valencian Community have allocated €7.15 million for tourism projects in areas affected by the DANA event on October 29. The funds are designated for climate change adaptation, early warning systems, waterway adjustments, and flood prevention measures. Three new direct aid actions have been created: €2.86 million for preventive measures and infrastructure recovery; €2.145 million for greenways and recreational areas; and another €2.145 million for urban environment improvements post-DANA.

The top spending countries were the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Nordic countries, accounting for half of the tourism expenditure. The UK also had the highest daily spending rate at €176.

Volotea se ofrece a cubrir el hueco que deje Ryanair en España

However, the airline's net result wasn't disclosed after a 2023 loss of €97.5 million, marking its fifth year of negative balances.

TUI Group encadena 10 meses seguidos de crecimiento, ahora otro 13%

🏖️ TUI's Holiday Experiences segment led the Q1 growth with an €81.7M increase in underlying EBIT, totaling €196.2M. Hoteles & Resorts EBIT rose by 65.8%, while Cruceros' EBIT grew by 39.6%, and TUI Musement improved by 78.5% in EBIT. Passenger count reached 3.7 million, a 6% increase, with dynamic package bookings up by 18%. The company expects annual revenue to grow by 5-10% and EBIT by 7-10%. Net debt is stable at €4.1 billion, and TUI has sold 32% of its high-season program for summer 2025.
