Así aplasta Booking a sus rivales con una diferencia de cuota inaudita
💾 Booking now dominates 71% of hotel sales through online travel agencies in Europe, up 11 percentage points from 60% in 2013. Competitors Expedia and HRS trail with 14.4% and 16.6% market share respectively. Hotels' dependency on OTAs increased to 29.1% in 2023, a rise of nearly 10% from 2013's 19.3%. Small hotels are particularly reliant, with 27% distributing 30%-49% of their supply via OTAs and another 27% selling more than half. Despite a peak in direct bookings in 2021 at 59.7%, this figure dropped to 55% in 2023. Booking faces a €486 million fine in Spain for competition-restricting practices.
