Los campings, escenario perfecto para el turismo slow y el sleep tourism

  • Hosteltur
  • 6 April 2025
🏕 Over 10 million travelers and nearly 50 million overnight stays are expected in campings by 2024. The Spanish Federation of Campings (FEEC) notes that out of over 1,000 establishments in Spain, about 50 are small, family-run campings, catering to loyal customers with personalized service. The FEEC has selected 32 of these establishments across 11 of Spain's 17 communities. The upcoming Easter holiday is seen as an ideal time for such getaways, aligning with the slow tourism trend. Studies highlight outdoor time reduces stress, enhancing mental and physical health. Sleep tourism is gaining attention as the Spanish Neurology Society reports 48% of Spaniards have poor sleep quality, and Pitchup.com saw a 55% increase in sleep-related likes in customer reviews compared to 2023.

Los dos destinos top de los europeos para Semana Santa

  • Hosteltur
  • 6 April 2025
🌍 The top Easter holiday destinations for Europeans booking through travel agencies are the United States and Japan, along with neighboring medium-distance countries. Japan leads with 12.2% of all bookings, doubling since last Easter, and is expected to exceed 40 million international arrivals by the end of 2025. The average transaction value for accommodation bookings is €1,000 for a three-night stay. Germany's travel agents noted Iceland in the top three, with a fourfold increase in bookings from Spring 2024, possibly influenced by spectacular auroras expected in mid-April 2025. Long-haul destinations represent 47% of all worldwide bookings by European travel agents, up 12% from 2024, due to increased global connectivity with new long-distance flights. RateHawk, part of Emerging Travel Group, reports that lesser-known destinations like Hakone, Takayama, and Iceland are gaining popularity.

Airbnb se compromete con Canarias a retirar anuncios ilegales

  • Hosteltur
  • 5 April 2025
🏡 Airbnb has pledged to the Canary Islands Government to remove listings that clearly violate local regulation and will now require a registration number for short-term rentals to be advertised on the platform. This initiative is part of Airbnb's "notification and removal of listings protocol," created to streamline the removal of accommodations identified by authorities as non-compliant. With immediate effect, all new listings in the Canary Islands must display a registration number. The company also plans an educational campaign for hosts in Canarias on new European regulations and registration requirements, in line with Spain's impending legislative changes. This MoU with Canary Islands adds to Airbnb's recent agreements with Ibiza Council and the Murcia Region, aiming to promote sustainable tourism.
