  • Hosteltur
  • 12 May 2025
📌 Schauinsland Reisen, German tour operator with a 14% market share in Mallorca, advocates for all-inclusive hotels to boost German tourist demand amidst price sensitivity. Carlos Fuster, Director of Product and Contracting for the Balearic Islands at Schauinsland Reisen, highlights the challenge of labor shortages in hotels and the competition from destinations like Turkey offering all-inclusive deals. The all-inclusive model, questioned during the pandemic, still faces challenges as tourism habits evolve. The new German government's stability and investment plans inject optimism for future travel. Schauinsland Reisen experienced its highest pre-sale period in early 2025 but notes that uncertain clients await last-minute deals.

Nueva York perderá 800.000 turistas internacionales por el efecto Trump

  • Hosteltur
  • 11 May 2025
📅 New York City Tourism and Conventions predicts a drop in international tourism to New York by 800,000 foreign visitors by 2025 due to the "Donald Trump effect." The most affected source markets will be Canada and China. Initial forecasts for 2025 predicted 67.6 million total visitors, revised down to 64.1 million. International tourists are expected to number 12.1 million, down from 14.1 million. This decline is attributed to Trump's trade and immigration policies. Recovery is expected post-2026, with the soccer World Cup, hosted alongside Mexico and Canada, potentially marking the start of improvement. Canadian tourism to the U.S. has dropped by 7% in the first four months of the year, with airline services being reduced. The Chinese government is discouraging travel to the U.S. due to trade conflicts, but public reaction has been less extreme. The British market, New York's largest source of international tourists, is more concerned with high accommodation and transportation costs rather than Trump's policies.

Los tres factores que marcarán los viajes en Europa en 2025

  • Hosteltur
  • 10 May 2025
📰 Travel plans in Europe for summer 2025 might be influenced by three key factors: tariff wars and Donald Trump's policies, a sluggish economy with a projected GDP growth of 0.9%, and increasing fears of a military conflict. The European Travel Commission reports a slight decrease in travel intentions among Europeans compared to the previous year, with 72% planning to travel between April and September 2025. However, the travel sector remains resilient with 42% planning vacations of 7-12 nights and 27% intending to take three or more trips. The strongest travel intentions are in Poland (80%), the United Kingdom (79%), the Netherlands (75%), Spain (75%), and Italy (73%). On the contrary, France (65%), Belgium (68%), Austria (69%), Switzerland (69%), and Germany (70%) show less inclination to travel. Destinations considered close and safe are expected to benefit, with a growing interest in quality-price ratio and off-season travel. The report also suggests a possible shift towards domestic and short-distance tourism due to tighter travel budgets and safety concerns, with Spain (6.5%), Italy (6.0%), and France (5.9%) topping the preferred destinations. Fear of a military conflict could influence cautiousness regarding long-distance or out-of-continent travel, reinforcing the trend towards intra-European travel.
