Airbnb acusa a los hoteles de ser los impulsores del turismo de masas
🏠 Airbnb, on Friday, called on municipal authorities in the EU's ten most visited cities to reconsider their tourism models, stating hotels drive mass tourism and hinder sustainable urban development. In 2024, hotels accounted for nearly 80% of overnight stays in the EU. Between 2021-2023, nights booked in these cities increased by 2.5 times, with hotels responsible for 75% of this rise. New hotel constructions in 2024 included nearly 40,000 rooms, with 250,000 more in planning.
