Los hoteleros de Mallorca apuestan por el turismo familiar y el modelo TTOO
🏨 María Frontera, President of the Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca (FEHM), highlights the United Kingdom's recovery from recession and the need to strengthen family tourism, the tour operation model, and desestacionalización. At World Travel Market (WTM), she noted increased arrivals in February, March, and April, but pre-pandemic figures haven't been reached. The British market, third in spending growth at 25% since 2019, is now averaging €197.51 per person per day, up 9% from 2023. Despite a 6% drop in occupancy this summer, the sector is aiming to extend the hotel season; 30% of hotels to open in February and 50% in March next year. Investment over €3 billion repositioned hotel assets between 2015 and 2022, with 4 and 5-star establishments now representing 70% of the offer. Hotel employment reached 500,000 workers in the sector this year, with wages increasing 33.6% in the past decade, outpacing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) by 10 points.
