🏨 Hilton's first Hampton hotel in Alicante opened this week in El Altet, Elche, near Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport. The hotel features 72 rooms, a gym, pool, and breakfast, starting with 20% occupancy on its first day. Javier Alemán from Grupo Lo Baro noted it crowns a 50-year dream. Elche's mayor, Pablo Ruz, highlighted the city's record 1.4 million overnight stays and stressed the urgent need for more hotels. Six additional hotel projects are under review.

💸 Edgar Suites, a French operator-investor, acquired its first property in Valencia, Spain, investing €12 million for a high-end aparthotel in the Botanic neighborhood by Q2 2027. It will feature 27 apartments and 65 rooms. The company entered Spain seven months ago, appointing Casilda Mulliez as Director of Expansion. Backed by BC Partners Real Estate, Edgar Suites aims for 4,000 rooms by 2030 across major European tourist cities. Currently, it operates 26 residences with 1,500 rooms in France, generating €30 million annually.

🏨 Minor Hotels will debut in Malta with the NH Collection Sliema opening by late 2026. Located in Sliema, 10 km from Valletta, this new build resort will offer 268 rooms, a spa, rooftop bar, pool, and restaurant. Gonzalo Aguilar, CEO of Minor Hotels Europe and Americas, highlights the entry into Malta as a significant expansion. NH Collection, a premium brand with over 100 hotels in 25 countries, plans further franchise growth under the leadership of Sandra Cremesini.

🏖 Mongibello Ibiza, now a 5-star hotel, located at Es Caló de S’Alga in Santa Eulària, expands its offerings with valet service, 24-hour room service, traditional llaüt boat reservations, and airport transfers for suite guests. The hotel captures the 1970s Italian coast and relaxed Ibiza vibe. In 2024, a promenade renovation enhances connectivity with the sea. Mongibello continues hosting high-profile cultural events, reinforcing its identity as a creative hub while offering an elevated version of its signature "Dolce Vita Ibicenca".

🏰 El Ministerio del Interior vendió el castillo de Maqueda en Toledo a Amcotur por 3.25 millones de euros. El castillo, con 3,060 m², será transformado en un hotel rural de 4 estrellas, con obras que durarán entre 1.5 y 2 años. Originalmente planeado como un museo de la Guardia Civil, el proyecto de 7 millones nunca se inauguró. Declared a Monumento Histórico Artístico in 1931, the site is expected to boost local tourism.

🏠 Líbere Hospitality Group (LHG) has launched a 140-unit building in Valencia under the B48 brand, located near Feria Valencia. The 17-story B48 Valencia Fira, previously Hotel Fira, has been renovated to feature digital amenities like smart locks and high-speed Wi-Fi. This is LHG's fourth property in Valencia, boosting their total to 1,632 units in Spain and 2,300 globally, reinforcing their strategic presence in business tourism.
