Digitalización, talento y vivienda: los retos clave del turismo en Ibiza
🏨 On May 8, TecnoHotel OnTour was held at Hotel Vibra Algarb in Ibiza, featuring interviews with Manuel Sendino of FHIF and Patricia Moreira of Vibra Hotels. Key challenges discussed included off-season tourism, housing scarcity for employees, digitization, and public-private collaboration. Vibra Hotels aims to extend operations into spring and autumn, with notable hotel occupancy in 2024 and projects opened in April. The brand shifted from Playa Sol to Vibra in 2021, now boasting 89% of hotels in the 3 and 4-star categories, up from 57%. With 400-600 employees needed seasonally, Vibra provides staff accommodations and emphasizes continuous training, achieving a 90% employee recommendation rate. Digital initiatives include integrating customer data for personalized experiences, despite the complexity of digital regulations. Housing costs for workers are steep, with rents over €1,000 in May, leading to shared accommodations for €3,000. Public administration involvement is sought to combat illegal tourist lodging, support worker housing, and enhance public services, while addressing Ibiza's sustainability amidst finite resources.
