Vueling e Iberia Express, lastradas por disputas con los pilotos

Valencia dispara su turismo y Baleares es la que menos crece

🏖️ Comunidad Valenciana leads Spanish autonomous communities in tourism growth with a 15.9% increase over last year, followed closely by Catalonia at 15.4%, and Andalucia at 15.3%. The Balearic Islands lag with a 7% rise year-to-date and 4.7% in July. The UK accounts for 22% of Spain's tourists, over 13 million by August 1. Germans follow with 8 million (13%), Italians approach 5.8 million (nearly 10%), while France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, and Ireland also contribute significantly. The USA remains the top non-European sender of travelers to Spain.

Imserso: así marcha la negociación entre Ávoris y los hoteles “rebeldes”

🏡 Francisco Ribera, president of Agretur in Peñíscola and hotel section spokesperson of Ashotur, is critical of negotiations with Ávoris, claiming unfair compensation for hotel services. Ávoris bid low in a contest impacting the Social Tourism sector. Current offers from Turismo Social are up to 1 euro per establishment category, against an average cost of 34 euros per person per night, compared to 22-25 euros from the previous season.

Una nueva low cost rumana, Bees, empieza a volar

🛫 On August 5, Bees Airlines launched its service with an A320 flight from Bucharest Otopeni to Heraclion airport in Crete. Founded in March, the airline aims to establish short-haul operations around Romania, including upcoming routes to Prague, Verona, Tel Aviv, and Baden Baden from Otopeni, as well as flights from Chisinau to Verona, and from Suceava to Tel Aviv and Baden Baden, to be fully scheduled by October. Starting with two aircraft, Bees Airlines plans to expand its fleet.

Iberia sella un acuerdo “fundamental para la construcción del futuro”

El diario ABC pide que se investigue el rescate de Air Europa

💸 Air Europa's rescue by the Spanish Government, involving €950 million requested by Globalia, is under scrutiny. Qatar compra los slots de Tarom en Londres Heathrow

✈ Tarom, the Romanian public airline, sold its seven weekly flight rights at London Heathrow Airport, with the final operation on October 27. The sale price was undisclosed, but a previous sale to Oman Airlines was for $85 million. Tarom's losses are significant, making the sale a small asset in a sea of red figures. Qatar Airways, the buyer, will add an extra daily flight to its eight existing flights between Heathrow and Doha, also considering British Airways' two daily flights; Qatar is IAG's primary shareholder. Qatar Airways will use Boeing 777s, with a capacity of about 350 passengers, for the new nightly operation.
