Ryanair, obligada a devolver unas “ayudas estatales ilegales”
✈ Ryanair, the Irish low-cost airline, will have to repay state aid granted by Germany, which amounts to between €13 and €14 million, as ruled by the European Commission. The public funding, which was given for marketing agreements between the state of Rhineland and Ryanair, as well as for training aid, has been deemed incompatible with EU rules following an investigation started in October 2018. Additionally, Ryanair is required to pay back the interest, and Frankfurt-Hahn airport must return €1.25 million.
