Vueling se lanza con todo para arañar cuota a Turkish en Estambul

✈️ Vueling, led by Carolina Martinoli, is launching a new route to Istanbul on October 29 with three weekly flights from Barcelona on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Plans to increase to seven weekly flights by March 2025 are in place. The IAG low-cost carrier could operate up to ten weekly flights, competing with Turkish Airlines, which runs 2-4 daily flights on this route. Vueling offers more affordable pricing, with tickets already on sale, challenging Turkish Airlines and Pegasus, which operates weekly.

Renfe gana terreno a Ouigo en la ruta Madrid-Barcelona

El huracán ‘Helene’ obliga a cancelar mil vuelos en USA

🌩 Hurricane Helene was set to hit Florida on the night from Thursday to Friday, prompting airport authorities and airlines to cancel about 1,000 flights and delay another 1,672. Southwest, with 201 canceled flights, was the most affected, followed by American and Delta. The most impacted airports included Tampa, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale. Total, de Brasil, primer cliente no chino del C919

📍 Total Linhas Aéreas, a Brazilian airline, needs to compete with a small fleet urgently requiring new aircraft. Unable to procure from Boeing due to its crisis or Airbus because of delays and a long waitlist, Total turned to China's C919. A delegation visited China to evaluate the ARJ21 and the Comac C919, designed in the Far East. Paulo Almada, an airline partner, revealed negotiations for a small order of four aircraft. While the Brazilian Embraer will be available in 2026 with 140 seats, it doesn't meet Total's current needs compared to the A320 and Boeing 737 Max. The C919 awaits international certifications, potentially granted by Europe in 2025.

Teruel: dos A380 abandonan el ‘cementerio’ de aviones

✈️ Teruel Airport in Spain, along with Tarbes Airport in France, known as one of Europe's largest airplane graveyards, is witnessing the revival of Airbus A380 aircraft. Despite initial skepticism during the pandemic about the future demand for such large planes, this week two A380s took off from Teruel to rejoin normal operations. An Etihad A380 with registration A6APE, only nine years old, and a 14-year-old Lufthansa A380 have headed for checks and upgrades, with the latter already en route from Germany to Manila for the required overhauls.
