Sanctions imposed by the West in 2022 following Ukraine's invasion led to unpaid aircraft leases. The Russian government allowed airlines to erase these debts from their records, yet imposed a 25% tax on them. Larger airlines, like S7 and Aeroflot, face fewer issues, having negotiated ownership for some aircraft, unlike the 20-25 medium-sized airlines now facing a crisis.

Jet2 abre otra base con nueve vuelos a España

🛫 Jet2, born in Leeds, successfully expanded across the north of the UK and into London, competing at Ryanair's main base. Recently, it announced a new base at Luton Airport, set to open with 17 routes, including 9 to Spain, starting with Mallorca via new A321s. This marks Jet2's 13th base, joining others like Bournemouth and Bristol. At Luton, Jet2 will offer 36 weekly flights to 17 European destinations, with routes to Italy, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, and Spain, commencing in March.

Norwegian vuelve: reabre su base en Estocolmo

Iberia cancela toda la operativa en Israel hasta febrero de 2025

Iberia: las consecuencias de haber quedado fuera del Imserso

📌 International Airlines Group (IAG) acknowledges a significant impact from losing Imserso travel program management to Turismo Social (Ávoris). Previously handled by a Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) including Iberia, IAG7, and Alsa, which lost coastal and island lots, IAG's "other income" increased by €24 million in the first nine months of 2024 to €1.870 billion. Iberia, part of Mundiplan UTE, contributed tens of thousands of passengers with 212,343 spots in the Balearic and Canary Islands and 443,887 on the mainland coast. After two seasons with Ávoris, Mundiplan has a chance to regain control as Imserso announces a new tender following Ávoris' breaches.
