Latam ‘corteja’ a Aerolíneas Argentinas para quedársela

✈ LATAM, the leading airline in Latin America with headquarters in Chile and Brazil, originated from the merger of Lan Chile and Tam of Brazil. It has subsidiaries LATAM Perú, LATAM Colombia, and LATAM Ecuador. The company faced challenges in Argentina due to government interference, leading to the closure of LATAM Argentina. Recently, LATAM signed a code-sharing agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas, positioning itself favorably for a potential privatization of the latter, which had been privatized earlier this century and then renationalized, resulting in significant investor losses.

Ni Ryanair ni Vueling: la aerolínea que pone fin al todo el equipaje gratuito

✈ Air Canada, since January, introduced a policy requiring passengers with a basic ticket to pay for carry-on baggage regardless of size. On January 3, basic ticket holders won't have rights to carry-on or checked luggage, with exceptions for small purses, coin holders, and a laptop with a case. Wheelchairs remain free. Passengers also lose the right to choose seats and must pay to change assigned ones, pushing Air Canada towards a low-cost model.

Iberojet intenta mejorar sus números con el alquiler de aviones

Air France devolverá el impuesto cobrado en sus billetes

🛫 Air France and Corsair, due to the French government's fall and pending sustainability tax, have announced refunds of the tax charged for travel from January 1. The tax, aimed at raising €1 billion annually for climate change, was not approved but included in ticket prices because airlines cannot retroactively charge passengers. Aeroflot compra 5 Boeing 737 para usarlos como repuestos

✈ Aeroflot, Russia's state airline, is facing a severe spare parts crisis and has decided to purchase five Boeing 737 cargo model 800BCF to dismantle for parts for its fleet. This decision comes as 34 out of 66 A320 aircraft in Russia are grounded due to a lack of spare parts. The aircraft will be transferred to Pobeda, Aeroflot's low-cost subsidiary, after previous consideration of converting them to passenger planes was deemed too costly. Russian aviation is suffering, with many small and medium-sized airlines on the brink of bankruptcy and unable to repair their aircraft, intensifying the need to keep planes flying, especially in remote regions where air travel is often the only viable transport option.
