Una Norwegian recuperada recompra diez de sus aviones

✈️ Norwegian Air, amidst a brutal crisis, sold and then leased back Boeing 737s from its short-haul fleet. Geir Karlsen, CEO, announced the repurchase of ten 737s for cost savings and flexibility. In March, the buyback will be funded by the airline's cash surplus, saving $18 million annually on leasing. Currently, Norwegian operates 89 aircraft, all B737s, across two companies; only five are not leased.

IAG barre en beneficios a Air France-KLM y Lufthansa

🏩 IAG outperformed European competitors Air France-KLM and Lufthansa in 2024, multiplying profits by eight times Air France-KLM's and doubling Lufthansa's. Air France-KLM's net profit was €317 million (down 66% from 2023's €934 million), with revenue up 5% from €30.019 billion to €31.459 billion. Lufthansa's net profit decreased by 18% to €1.380 billion despite record revenues rising from €35.400 billion to €37.580 billion. IAG, parent of Iberia and Vueling, reported a 2.9% net profit increase to €2.732 billion and a 9% revenue increase to €32.100 billion in 2024.

Air Europa amplía vuelos a América con tres nuevos Boeing 787

✈ Air Europa increases flights to American destinations for summer: from mid-June to September, daily flights to 5 in-demand locations. ✈ Iberia will implement significant changes to its distribution strategy on April 1, strengthening its New Distribution Capability (NDC) while introducing new challenges for traditional Global Distribution Systems (GDS). Exclusive benefits for travel agents using NDC include discounts, a quality commitment to customers, and a 21-day ticket issuance limit compared to 49 days in the traditional GDS. Basic fares will be exclusively distributed through NDC in Europe (except the UK), the USA, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, El Salvador, and Guatemala. IAG reports that up to 50% of Iberia's direct sales are already distributed through NDC.
