🏥 Local residents and authorities are urging for the reopening of the Real Monasterio de Santa María de El Paular hotel in Rascafría, Madrid, closed for a decade. The Spanish Ministry of Culture, the owner, has been delaying the public tender process despite interest from several hotel companies, as reported by El Mundo.

🏨 The Cosentino family office has partnered with Hyatt to integrate Macenas Mediterranean Resort into the Destination by Hyatt brand, targeting luxury vacation tourism and events. This establishment will be the first 5-star hotel in Mojácar, Almería, and the first under an international hotel brand in the region. Over €40 million will be invested in construction, with Horwath HLT facilitating the agreement and GCA Architects leading the sustainable design.

🏨 Riu began construction of a 700-room hotel at El Pueblito ruins in Cancún, which had been closed since Hurricane Wilma in 2005. The Spanish hotel chain's project is expected to be completed in 18 months. With this development, Riu will expand its lead as the hotel chain with the most rooms in Cancún. Demolition started a month ago at the Hotel El Pueblito site, next to Playa Delfines in the area known as La Herradura.

🏖️ Murcia will announce in September aid for the modernization and development of tourist accommodations with a budget of €7.7 million, funded by the EU through Next Generation funds. The aid, part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, targets two categories: hotel and non-hotel accommodations, including campings, tourist apartments, rural lodgings, tourist hostels, and hostels. Eligible applicants are individuals or legal entities with fiscal residence in Spain who own or operate accommodations registered with Murcia's Regional Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports Council.
