🏡 Raquel Sánchez, presidenta de Paradores, announced a €9 million investment for improvements in Canary Islands' Paradores located in La Palma, Cañadas del Teide, Cruz de Tejeda, El Hierro, and La Gomera. In the first half of 2024, these establishments welcomed over 24,000 guests with a 75% occupancy rate. Funding comes from Paradores' investment, Turespaña, and the Spanish Government's Recovery Plan. The Parador de El Hierro will receive the highest amount of €3.924 million for total reconstruction, followed by La Palma with €2.884 million for extensive refurbishing. La Gomera, Las Cañadas del Teide, and Cruz de Tejeda will get €1.879 million, €411,000, and €98,000 respectively. Foreign tourists made up 48% of the clientele, an 8% increase from the previous year, and restaurants served 50,000 covers, up 5%.

🛫 easyHotel to open its second hotel in Madrid, expected in the spring of 2025, located in the San Blas-Canillejas district with 94 rooms, a breakfast restaurant, an outdoor terrace, and parking for 30 vehicles, including electric chargers. The construction transforms an old office block, creating 11 jobs. Redentum Partners developed the project, with Colliers advising. Part of the investment comes from a €23 million capital commitment by Ivanhoe Cambridge and ICAMAP, released at the milestone of 49 hotels. The hotel incorporates sustainability with low-carbon rooms, recycled materials, a complete energy infrastructure renovation, an aerothermal hot water system, solar panels, and a battery management system. Karim Malak, CEO of easyHotel, emphasizes the importance of the Spanish market, with plans for expansion in Alicante, Valencia, and Barcelona Meridiana.
