La marca hotelera The Meliá Collection debuta en la Península

🏠 El renovado Hotel Madrid Atocha ha sido rediseñado por Adriana y Alvaro Sans, homenajeando a Miguel de Cervantes y las siete bellas artes. El Casa de las Artes Meliá Collection dispone de 137 habitaciones, un patio ajardinado con techo acristalado, piscina termal, centro de fitness, salas de reuniones, sala de cine al estilo de los años 50, y el restaurante Maché. Se encuentra entre la calle Atocha y calle Moratín, constituyendo el cuarto hotel de lujo de Meliá en Madrid.

La masificación turística también preocupa en Galicia

Riu abre las puertas en Chicago de su quinto hotel urbano en EEUU

🏨 Riu Hotels & Resorts opened the Riu Plaza Chicago, its fifth urban hotel in the United States and 11th worldwide. The 4-star Riu Plaza Chicago has 28 floors, 390 rooms, and is located in Chicago's Magnificent Mile. The Rooftop, offering panoramic views from the 27th floor, is set to open in September. Expedia Group ya puede vender los vuelos de Ryanair

✈ Expedia Group will now offer Ryanair flights, following recent collaborations between the Irish low-cost airline and various online travel agencies (OTAs). Expedia customers can book Ryanair flights as part of holiday packages or standalone reservations, gaining direct access to their myRyanair account and flight updates. The partnership, expanding the ways customers can benefit from the collaboration, includes "Ryanair Rooms" from earlier this year, allowing seamless hotel bookings. Ryanair flights will soon be directly available on Expedia Group’s marketplace. Marketing Director of Ryanair, Dara Brady, and Senior Vice President of Expedia Group’s Travel Partnerships, Susan Spinney, have expressed enthusiasm for the initiative.

Más de 137.700 trabajadores se incorporaron al sector turístico en junio

🏖️ In June, the Spanish tourism sector added 137,706 new workers, surpassing 2.9 million employees, a 5% increase from June 2023, representing 13.6% of the country's total workforce. Hospitality saw 79,258 new affiliates, travel agencies 4,663 more, and other tourism activities increased by 53,785. Employment in agencies and tour operators rose by 6.9%, while hospitality grew by 5.1%. Autonomous employment, 17.5% of the sector, grew by 1.5%. Canarias (6.1%), Madrid (5.8%), and Andalucía (5.2%) led regional growth, with Andalucía adding 17,792 affiliates, Madrid 13,300, Catalonia 11,068, and Canarias 9,657.
